About the Book
The means by which buildings communicate their function, their place in society and how we are supposed to use them is an integral aspect of their architectural design. Through tracing parallels with linguistic development, this thesis seeks to interrogate the process by which this is enabled, and to speculate on how we can learn to adapt in the future to maintain this sense of relevance and interaction.
