About the Book
Like the first volume on EAST AFRICAN WILDLIFE this second volume is a compilation of more than 40 years of photography in Kenya and Northern Tanzania. It is a selection out of many thousand pictures taken on safaris, game drives and game walks all over these two countries.
Survival for the wildlife has changed mainly because of the population pressure which necessitates more and more agricultural land and curtails the space available for wild animals. That battle for space will determine the chances for survival for many species. It is very unlikely that in 50 years our grandchildren will be able to have the same “wildlife experiences” as we have today!
This volume has become almost an encyclopaedia of most of the animals you meet in the East African Bush but does not claim to be comprehensive in any way. Very short and succinct descriptions are attached to most of the different species.
Four other volumes on EAST AFRICA complement this book called “ALL THE OTHERS”: “the BIG FIVE”, “MAASAI AT HOME”, “NORTHERN TANZANIA” and “KENYAN LANDSCAPES”.
