About the Creator
I began my working life as an English teacher. For six years, I taught students in U.S. public schools and I spent three years overseas -- in Turkey, Germany and France -- as a teacher of U.S. dependents. After both our children had entered school, I made a career change, working as a professional writer/photographer/editor and manager in corporate communications for hospitals and health systems. In 1993, I started my own writing consultant business, AD Communications. After my first grandchild was born, I began writing "critter poems." I have completed six collections which I illustrated primarily with my own photos. Three "books" contain longer, rhyming poems, and three feature animal haiku. Come to the Zoo -- Photos & Haiku was my first officially published book. A year later, I published Wildlife Rhymes & Reason, a book of photos, poems and additional facts about animals that can be found in the wild. This book has a strong emphasis on wildlife conservation.
