About the Creator
Shelley Howard has been a prolific Chicago graphic artist for over 40 years. If you live in the Midwest, and have ever seen an ad for a Rock Concert produced by Jam Productions, then you are familiar with his work, because he has designed them all. Shelley got his start in the fashion industry, designing ads and catalogs for Chicago’s cutting edge boutiques and designers in the early 70’s. After a stint at Triad Magazine, Shelley founded Jam Magazine with Arny Granat and Jerry Mickelson from Jam Productions. This lead to a long term association with Jam that has lasted over 5 decades. In Chicago, Shelley has designed print ads, posters, and flyers for such major venues as The World Music Theatre, Alpine Valley, Rosemont Horizon (now Allstate Arena), The Chicago Theatre, Aragon Ballroom, Park West, Riviera Theatre, Vic Theatre & Metro. Shelley has designed ad mats for such performers as Prince, Tom Petty, R.E.M. as well as numerous club acts and local bands.
